Lime

Colours and patterns in the cut timber of this mature Lime tree (Tilia Sp.) seen beside a busy path at Sheffield Park Garden today are indications of the fungal decay that led to the decision by the Garden staff to fell the tree.

It is hoped that some of the wood might find its way into the skilful hands of local wood carvers and turners.
