Erupting

Hopefully this is the last day of super cold weather. It was 0°F when I took this, after starting this morning at -12°F. The sunshine and blue sky are deceptive.

The ice sheet must still be shifting because I can hear it booming and cracking. Maybe even the ice feels the cold? The piece of ice sticking out here is likely a result of wind pushing the sheet onshore. Like two tectonic plates creating a mountain range.
