Birthday Broadway Blipmeet
We've had a very enjoyable blipmeet today, part of mrsfb's ongoing big birthday celebration programme.
Thanks to steveng (and Gill), chrispybox (and mrscb), Technophobe and LooseCanon, hildasrose (and Rob) for coming along.
We started with coffees etc in the Broadway Deli (famous for its buxom melons) A very quirky place, with an emu (?) for instance on the back of the toilet door (extra). A bathroom actually with the bath full of imitation plants.
Then on to the Gordon Russell Design Museum. That's him in the main blip. He was a furniture designer and craftsman. The museum has lots of 1920s and 30s furniture on display. A second extra is a television cabinet made for Murphy Radio, featuring an inclined mirror in the lid. Very unusual, actually designed by RD Russell (his brother I think) in 1937.
Then we went on to the Broadway Tower for lunch, by a rather circuitous route as Fish Hill was closed for some reason.
A great day!

The camera club Zoom last night on phone camera photography was very interesting. I leaned a lot of new things about using the camera, some of which were pretty obvious, I don't know why I didn't already know them! And some new tips about Snapseed too.
I managed to multitask too and watched Pompey win 3-1 and move themselves out of the relegation zone, for now at least.
