MY RETURN - I HOPE
Well I'm trying to get back to things but I have to take things very steady for several more weeks yet so the photos will probably be from my phone and will probably not be great.
I want to thank all of you for your best wishes and kind positive and lovely messages, they have helped me.
To update you it appears that I had to have a partial reconstruction, which wasn't planned. This is because the mass, although small and early was very far back so they had delve deeper. This means it's going to take a bit longer to heal.
The Surgeon wa ts to see me for a follow up next week, no date yet, and to check the wound.
I'm not too bad but am not allowed to raise my arm above shoulder height fot a couple of weeks yet. I do feel very emotional and tired, uncomfortable and a bit sore but otherwise nit too bad. I don't think I will feel the full relief until I get the results of the lymph nodes in about 2-3 weeks time.
I had a check up phone call from a CNS in Lancaster early this morning with some advice and reassurance.
I have to say that the level of care I have received has been outstanding, across all levels of staff. Yesterday due to my needle phobia said I could have gas if I preferred and it was not less effective and for me it was so much better. Before we left the surgeon wanted to check on me and the nurse said she'd been lying to me all day and I was now to have an injection in the tummy weeekkkk! But she did it there and then and I barely felt it. She had kept it from me so I wouldn't get anxious. She had also calmed me down first thing. What amazing service.
Anyway I'm not too bad am progressing well
I hope to see you all again tomorrow. Stay safe and take care thank you all once again. Xx
