Round the Block

What no swimming photo- its Friday. A rare occurrence , the amber warning  for wind from Storm Eowyn which was blowing a hoolie when the alarm went off this morning at 7,  caused all of us to have second thoughts.  What a treat , I stayed in bed with a book and listened to Desert Island Discs. I would also add that our central heating,  that has been "on the blink" since before Christmas, finally decided to completely die about 3 days ago, so bed was definitely the warmest place to be. 
As I write this though, the heating engineer, on his 5th visit I think, has come with yet another part and promises us he's fixed it this time.  
Anyway, I walked round the block to survey damage from the storm , found lots of fallen branches and took this photo looking across towards the centre of the village. It looks very peaceful. You can't see how fast the clouds are scudding across the sky. 
And friends coming for the weekend from Brighton have delayed their arrival until tomorrow because there are no trains running north of Preston.
