Today's the day  . . . . . . . . . . . to lose power

Our day has been even worse than predicted - gale force winds and a power cut from 9.00am this morning. 

We're lucky that we have wood-burning stoves and a gas hob - and lots of candles!  But it does make you realise how much we depend on  electricity.   The latest estimate for the return of power is midnight. 

Fingers crossed that they manage to re-connect before the deep freeze unfreezes . .................
