A little windy!

It’s been wild all day. Extremely windy, quite scary, but we didn’t lose power as many did in the area.

In the afternoon, when it was a little calmer, a neighbour came round to gather a boxful of knitting wool that I had offered her. She had just been for a walk in the wind and reported there was a huge beech tree across a track in fields not far away. So, Gordon set off to investigate. I wasn’t going out and anyway we had knitting wools to sort!

So this is his photo and I had to blip it to show the strength of the wind. It is a huge, old tree. Perhaps as well there wasn’t anyone around at the time. (We think the plastic had blown from the fields onto it later.)

I could have blipped a photo of the only damage we have suffered - a dustbin lid that had had a great time blowing around the garden - it was in bits! I think this photo is preferable!
