A Meandering Life...

Letters from home

This is my entry for the 54Frames challenge this week: Something Old. There was an added challenge of using focus stacking.

This old lunch box belonged to my late father, it holds letters from his mother and step father whilst he was in Korea during the latter stages of that war. I have Blipped it before but as I had done a selfie in week 1 I couldn't do that again... ;o)

The letters are like a one sided conversation with only hints at what my father may have mentioned in return. He would have been just 19 years old at the time and in the second half of his National Service.

For my image I used the in-camera focus stacking programme. It took 16 images. I'm new to this part of my camera and with limited time I haven't managed to get the leading edges of the letters as crisp as I'd want. I've added a hint of grunge using ON1 Photo RAW 2025 where I also did the cropping. No special lighting used, just the room light.

In other news: We have survived the storm it appears. Just one support cane has blown over in the front garden and a tub used for weeds has taken a walk around the house.
