Doctor in the House

Paul had his PhD viva today and apparently it went really well. He’s waiting to hear exactly what remains to be done with his thesis but there’s only some minor corrections to make before he’s officially a doctor.

I met him after work in the campus bar with one of his supervisors and a colleague from his department - it was nice to meet them - and then Paul and I went out for a meal to celebrate. I bet it’s such a weight off his mind now. What an achievement!
