On the Lookout

A heron patiently waiting for the right moment to fish.
It is standing on the vegetation / debris washed down the River Derwent and lodged at the top of Calver Weir.
Eventually, the Environment Agency will have to come and clear this away so that the weir can operate as intended. I've watched this operation in the past, it was fascinating.
