Cleopatra Butterfly on lavender
Today we spotted this beautiful Cleopatra (or Brimstone) Butterfly on the lavender. In flight, it had beautiful orange wings, while at rest it could easily be mistaken for a leaf. The lavender was covered with butterflies today: Scarce Swallowtails, Bath Whites and Brown Argus', as well as Hummingbird Hawk Moths.
