Being trapped inside by family as well as work and the threat of wind for most of the day, I ensured I went out for a run early on before the peak and for a walk a bit later when it had died down a bit. Both times there were a fair number of dog-people out emptying their dogs but none of them seemed to think to kick any of the larger branches off the paths, nor to heave upright any fallen bins which were completely blocking footpaths (except for the purple-topped on-street glass bins, only one of which was partially blocking a footway but all of which had fallen in such a way that their contents were weighing their lids open. I saw a bus in the morning before they stopped but the most popular type of moving vehicle in the afternoon was a pair of police vans and one car, racing to something on Salamander Place whilst I was clearing some broken tree-bits off a path near the Memorial to the World Prior to the Invention of Golf.
