Thwarted again...

Recently it seems that every time a plan a day out to Martin Mere to meet friends, something happens to make it not happen. Today was no exception... I got up and ready to leave by about 7:45am - they open at 9:30am and that's about how long it takes me to get there.

I opened the front door to get the milk and it was coated with ice...Then I looked at my path - innocent enough with a sprinkling of snow. Shoes on & one step & no way! We must have had freezing rain in the night and it was lethal. Still, ice grips on and another go - the car was iced up and so was my road...back home for a cup of tea.

Two hours later it was just about ok, but not worth going to MM.

A walk around the res gave me this lovely song thruch pretty much by my feet. Gorgeous weather if a bit cold.
