Toasting the trees

We went to a Wassail in a local orchard; it was really quirky but fun. There were AngloSaxon reenacters, Bow Brook Morris Dancers and wassail songs from Musyk Anon. I took loads of video and few photos.
We had a tour of the orchard and an explanation of how it’s managed, dancing , singing and carousing - banging implements to make a noise and ward off evil spirits !
Then we had to hang the toast in the lit trees for the Guardian Robins and pour cider around the base to procure a bounteous harvest
