Lancaster Castle.

W gets a bit fed up of being in Longridge so we are tending to go on mini adventures at the weekend. Today’s was a drive to Lancaster. We parked at the Ashton Memorial and walked down the hill into the centre. W felt at home, there were students everywhere. It was cold but sunny. This is the castle where they hung the Lancashire Witches, it was also a prison until quite recently. You can now walk under the arch and into the courtyard. It was a good outing, somewhere different.
