No dormancy for the beaver

It looks like the beaver(s) in this part of the Gersprenz do not or only once enjoy dormancy. The bite marks on this tree were very fresh, most probably of this week.
I had to check whether beavers become dormant. Obviously some do the whole winter, others become dormant once in a while and again others do not become dormant at all.
Something learned again.
