Put the Boys to Work
It’s always good to have the boys around because they’re not only good company but they do things for us that require ladders or heavy lifting. They moved the pot on the right from the driveway to the porch putting it in the death trap spot where a step ends abruptly and unexpectedly. Most people can navigate it fine, but it was a Spike hazard. Positioning it was a bit tricky both for the pot handlers and for innocent passers by because of the sharp agave spines.
The men have now moved to taking out an old root, pruning the lime tree away from the house and harvesting ten thousand limes growing on the cut branches or fallen under the tree.
Too bad yet another inspector from yet another insurance didn’t come today as we’ve eliminated a couple of excuses for canceling us yet again. We’re required to have homeowners’ insurance by the mortgage company but if they cancel us again, we’ve decided we’ll just pay off the mortgage company and forget the insurance company. The whole insurance industry is in a mess not only because of California wildfires but because of natural disasters all over the country. We may well end up with a universal state run insurance program.
I took a break from making lasagne to sweep up the stray Christmas tree needles off the front porch and the door mat.
