The White Mountain

This is a shot of the limestone mountain tucked away in the Santa Rita Mountains. The mountain is an active mine. Limestone (calcium carbonate) is used as decorative rock, as a calcium supplement in animal feed, in drywall and in grout. Also, as the athletic field marker used for making the white stripes, as well as a lot of other things.  It makes for an interesting look and a lot of puzzlement to folks who haven't been around here very long. (lovely panorama in large.)  PS  The valley floor is sloped.

I got a lot accomplished today, at least for me.  I can usually get only one thing done.  I had therapy this morning, went to the bank and out for lunch. When I got home, I ordered groceries from Sprouts and Safeway and then picked up one of the orders..  I'll get the other tomorrow. I finished the day with laundry. More of that to do tomorrow, in between the two big football games. Go Bills!

An elderly woman walked into the local country church. The friendly usher greeted her at the door and helped her up the flight of steps. "Where would you like to sit?" he asked politely. "The front row please." she answered. "You really don't want to do that", the usher said. "The pastor is really boring." "Do you happen to know who I am?" the woman inquired."No." he said. "I'm the pastor's mother," she replied indignantly. "Do you know who I am?" he asked. "No." she said. "Good," he answered.
