Roman Ogee. Leica/Lumix Macro-Elmarit 45mm
The Romans are infamous known for their ogees. In this case though, it's just the name of a molding profile.
I am experimenting as I develop drawings for a set of bedside tables. The molding around the top will probably have this profile. My Blip shows the cutter - #95 - which creates this shape. It fits into the venerable Stanley #55 combination plane which we have previously met here The plane originally came from the Stanley Works with 55 optional molding and slotting cutters. It's the most remarkable tool, ingenious, - yet difficult to use. It needs a light touch and a lot of patience to make it cut just so, but it can be done.
The image is magnified about 12x.
