Carlos and James

Carlos runs a seafront restaurant called Rodero that we frequent every year. He has seen James grow up and treats us all as friends.
Last year it was very apparent that he was quite ill - lost a huge amount of weight, lost his hair, was obviously tired and his sister, who runs the place with him, was administering medication as the evening shift progressed. We were genuinely concerned for him.
He is better now - still recovering but definitely his spark is back and it was a genuine delight to see him this evening, ruffling James hair every time he came past.
