The Royal Alexandra Theatre, Toronto

We've had a lovely day. Grandson P was delighted with his toy kitchen and played with it all morning, keeping us all well "fed"! Later he was inevitably distracted as we held his slightly-delayed family/friends birthday party so the lucky lad received even more presents.

My Editor and I went out to the theatre this evening, as Son#1 and his wife had bought us tickets for "Come from Away" as our Christmas present. In case you've not heard of it, it's a musical of the true story of Gander in Newfoundland when planes carrying a total of 7,000 people ended up being diverted there when US airspace was closed immediately after the 9/11 attacks. The Royal Alexandra Theatre here in Toronto was where the musical started as a pre-Broadway show and it was really amazing, combining fun, humour, sadness and pathos as well as demonstrating the wonderful hospitality of the locals who suddenly had to cope with the influx of passengers.
