George V Park entry
Quick morning forage walk in the gaps between snow showers to get a haggis from Crombies, and the newspaper from further up the street.
The snow didn't lie, and the sky cleared up in the afternoon.
Out around by Stockbridge and the Water of Leith. Back in by George V park .. there were a couple of big tree branches down across the entrance path from Scotland street, and a couple of people who could have done with better tools trying to clear the path. Getting a bike through would have required lifting it over a big branch.
The worst damage we saw was a chimney stack which had collapsed into Howe Street; one of the very tall ones with more than 20 pots front to back. Half of the street was closed, there was a fire engine in attendance, and a big pile of salvaged sandstone in front of the tenement.
