Christmas card crop 2024
I'm still late with the task of ticking off my 2024 Christmas card list, preparing the list for 2025, saving suitable card backs for shopping lists, and popping the rest of the card debris into the paper recycling - but at least it's not March as was the case last year.
It's interesting to compare the colour and design of this year's cards with those of the past*. I had a feeling that there has been a recent shift away from glossy red. This is obvious when you compare this shot with its equivalents in the list below, particularly those from 2016 to 2020.
As well as my own cards, I dealt with those of Mummy hazelh. I wonder whether it will be me or my not-so-little sister who helps her with her 2025 list? Whoever it is, everything is ready for the job.
Also today I cleaned and refilled bird feeders and went for a run. There was a lot of debris along the running route on the cycle path, including fallen branches and uprooted trees.
We didn't have our haggis, neeps and tatties last night because we had left-overs from Friday's meal (which would have been for three had Jon been able to come round). Instead we will have our Burns supper this evening. I will be toasting my great-great uncle because I learnt this morning that he married into the Burns family. He was one of the brothers of my great-grandmother (she of the piano, tray, and this house). I never knew him because he died in 1951.
Exercise today: 7k run.
