Great British birdwatch
Gosh what a miserable day.
Day 2 of Newnham Park canicross, we got there knowing the race I wanted to do (6.5km) had been cancelled and on offer was 4 or 8 km (that is 2 laps of the 4km course). I opted for the 4 km as I knew it would be slippery out there and didn't want to risk 2 laps.
Dina was great picking the best line, but towards the bottom of the hill I chose to go off the main drag (thinking there would be better traction) but it was my downfall literally. Ended on my backside with Dina perplexed how she was going to pull me while I was on the ground.
The weather was awful driving home, there were floods in places I have never seen floods before.
Keely and I were booked into scent detection this afternoon, but all classes were cancelled due to the weather.
So it was my chance to do the birdwatch. I had loads of sparrows and dunnocks, and then just towards the end of the hour a blackcap appeared on the feeder. Never seen one before, although I often hear them in the woods
