Australia Day

Today is Australia Day and the village celebrated. The village band played Australian music and there were lots of Australian flags, barbecued sausages and lamingtons. A highlight was the thong throwing competition (that’s flipflop in the UK). The aim is to throw the thong/flipflop so as to knock down as many as possible of a stack of empty beer cans. The champion thrower was our neighbour and she’s 91.
