Posting this several days late (2 August) hence the odd tense and my head is all fuzzy from lack of sleep and worry.

The precise sequence of events I do not wish to recall but we got dreadful news about what was causing Bruce's problems after his MRI scan; our worst fears became the reality.

At this point we had little idea of what to expect next.
