Still no power or mobile signal  but yesterday afternoon Scottish Water managed to solve our problem, caused by an airlock in the mains that happened when the generator cut in to replace the electric pumps at the tanks in Colintraive.   They were excellent in their determination to get the issue resolved and deserve much thanks for doing so.

We keep discovering things that that the wind has either blown away (like the temperature gauge on the hot compost box) or destroyed (like this sign on our gate, blasted into pieces by a gust at some stage).

The trees that fell were pushed over and out of the soil, as one of extra pictures shows.   The other extra marks the moment at which power came on - we were in  our neighbour Mandy & Colin's kitchen after an impromptu Burns supper (and using up what we could from our fridges) when there was a beep and Mandy noticed (with joy it has to be said) that the clock on her cooker had come back on.   When we got up to the house (they live down on the main road) we had light too  and were able to power up the stove and start the central heating again.

However many of the surrounding areas are still off .
