Hamburg - day 1 - spiral staircase

My trip to Hamburg kicked off at 08:45 this morning when Herman and Ron arrived at my house to pick me up. After a coffee break at a MacCafe, after we'd passed Bremen we arrived in Hamburg in a drizzly grey city around 13:00 o'clock.
What to do? We decided to get out of our comfort zone immediately by visiting a location we're not used to photograph. The spiral staircase in the Brahms Kontor. But how to get there? It was Herman who brought us to the concierge and she immediately was ok with us being there. One restriction: We weren't allowed to go into offices. No problem!
And before we knew it we were capturing a beautiful staircase, upwards and downwards. Great fun!

Later in the afternoon we checked in our fancy design Prizeotel. It took a while to get there because of blocked roads and confusing signs, but after we'd been circling through town for a while we reached it.

After a short break we went to the Hauptbahnhof, the main railway station nearby, to capture the fuzz there. A beautiful huge hall. We took our tripods, but using them was absolutely not allowed without a proper contract with the DB (Dutch Bahn) so we were kindly requested to either show our contract, or stop photographing. We chose the latter. We had our pictures in the pocket already anyway.

A quick snack dinner at the Pommes Friends and after that we walked back to the hotel. A drink in the lobby, and pooped as I was, I was the first one to leave the party and go to bed. The moment I lay down I was knocked out until 7:00 am Saturday morning.
