I have no words…

Such an emotional time, and so many thoughts watching parts of today’s Holocaust Memorial Service fromAuschwitz .
Listening to the speech by Ronald Lauder,President of theWorld Jewish Congress .. these words , amongst many struck me..
“Hate is not the opposite of love.. indifference and silence is”
So much of what he said was very hard to listen to and so needs to be heard in our world today.
I remember my mum telling me stories from her childhood in Poland before the Germans invaded.. .Her mum was a teacher and they had many Jews living in their neighbourhood.
Every Sunday after Mass she had to go to various Jewish families with food parcels.
She often wondered what happened to them all as she never saw her mum again, at the age of 14.
Such unspeakable horror.. such sorrow in the stories of survivors..
So I’ve put my candle by the window tonight
