Southerly Buster
Off to the eastern suburbs this morning for isbi’s admission to hospital for her surgery tomorrow. I left Randwick in blazing sunshine but by the time I reached the SHB, there was driving rain. As I turned off the freeway at Cammeray, chunks of ice were coming out of the sky. By the time I parked the car, scrambled upstairs and mopped up under a couple of open windows, the Long Gully Bridge had become visible again for the blip (but only just).
The extra was taken 5 minutes later.
It’s what’s known here in Sydney as a Southerly Buster.
Locals know the Long Gully bridge better as the Suspension Bridge despite the fact it hasn’t actually been a suspension bridge since 1938.
