Bike

This one doesn’t bear close inspection as the quality isn’t good due to my fingers being too bloody cold for me to faff about or hang around and wait for more light.

Yes, I have a new(ish), 2ndhand bike, bought last November. Here’s the story on that one… I sold the previous bike in March last year as my back wasn’t up to the riding position and a 165mph, mid-weight, sports bike wasn’t/isn’t particularly suitable for the overcrowded A roads or bumpy and twisty (far more fun), B roads we have in the South East of England. So I bought a faster car instead and assumed that would satisfy my need for speed. It did not.

And so I now have this, a KTM 690 Duke. At 150kg it’s as light as 250cc bike (I see anything over 180kg as a useless massive lump) but has nearly 3 times the power… perfect for fun on small, twisty roads. The seating position is upright and suits my back (which is much better after weight loss and exercise in the 2nd half of last year… probably more on that another time). I’m not overly keen on the looks of the thing (I find most modern bikes, with their acres of do nothing, designer plastic bits, looking more like cheap Star Wars toys, quite ridiculous) but it’s not as bad as most.

Anyway, I think I’ll wait until it’s warmer before I go out on the thing again.
