Pond Perfection, Matfield

We decided to pop out for a drive today and just see where the road took us. The first place we stopped off at was Paddock Wood. It had a compact little High Street but wasn't really a place to take photographs so we ventured further out not exactly knowing where we were going to stop next.
Eventually we reached Matfield which is a village nestled in the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty. It's a gorgeous village full of historical houses and with a large village green and a beautiful duck pond which is where I took today's image from. After a little walk around it and the rest of the village we headed to the pub that was open (The Poet - the other is called The Star) for our micro trip obligatory pint. It was set up for fine dining but there were two sofas at the far end of the bar so we sat on them while we quaffed our beverages.
Siegried Sassoon the poet was born in Matfield and his book, The Old Century, describes his life in the are before 1914.
While looking up the village online I discovered there was an early 80's group called Matfield & The Pond! They were made up of a duo, David Andrews and David Luery, who composed songs and instrumentals with guitar, bass and synths and also used field recordings and bird song in their compositions. Here's one of their instrumentals that I really like:
