From the lodge
I awoke this morning wondering if the rain would have affected the landscape. We left at 0600 for our morning shoot. This was 15 minutes late because there was no water at the base camp area. We had water up in the hills, because every cabin has its own water tank. It has run out now, but they are working on it.
There was no spectacular sunrise, but lovely diffused light.
The gemsbok were scattered around feeding. The grasses and trees do look greener.
On our return journey, we saw a black backed jackal who posed for us and a very clean gemsbok skeleton.
My image is taken outside the lodge and I hope gives some impression of scale.
