Just because we liked it.

The Jungfrau "Jock" had to take her motor up to Carlisle ... One of those intermittent faults which was always "mittent" rather than "inter" every time she took it in.
Last time the fault was actually there for them to see...
"Sorry, you'll have to fetch it in and leave it."

So she did, we went up in case it needed to stay, (and took the opportunity to have a mouch around the local Garden Centre). Nope, this time, they could see the fault, but none of the electrickery testing tackle could detect why.

Halfway through lunch she was informed, by the ubiquitous telling-bone, that they'd actually found out why, didn't have the bits and could she take it in again later?

Yea, verily it could well be another excuse for a "Grand day out."

Some years later - I discovered it was an Alocasia, and not easy to keep.
