Yellow flash

We had been a little concerned that we haven't seen Greenfinches in the garden for a while and then we have read about issues around a reduction in numbers because of disease. In fact the Greenfinch was put on the Red List in 2021. 

Then in the last few days we think we have spotted one or two - that flash of yellow on the wing is a bit of a giveaway.  Sadly they didn't appear whilst we were doing the Birdcount yesterday. 

Then today I watched at least three, coming and going to feed on sunflower seeds. They all looked healthy, but we must be more careful than ever to keep the feeders clean and disease free.
