A Jumble

Our artist friends left today and I’m feeling a bit jumbled with all the creations and chatter we worked on for the last 2 days.......so this is what I call a jumbled blip. Lots of color and pattern. Like the last 2 days. Bara is an amazing artist and does a lot of teaching with kids too so I was learning about some projects to do with my grandchildren at our upcoming camp. :-) We made gummed paper flowers (picture over the deli paper prints we made with Musings. on Wed.) and gummed paper beads, made over straws, that are covered with thin paper napkins soaked with methyl cellulose, and acrylic medium and paint, and hard to see strings with gummed paper flags (maybe kids names can go there....) and then there are the little pictures made on gessoed bingo cards with paper napkin collage and a bit of paint! Bara has this amazing collection of paper napkins from around the world - I didn't know that there are almost always 3 layers..the pattern, a ghost pattern, and white on the back. And finally Bara and Richard in my studio before leaving today. Nothing’s really finished but maybe you get the idea from this ipad photo - ..... whew.! I rally tried to post this early before dinner so I wasn't doing it at 10PM, too tired to write, but couldn't because of the blipfoto maintenance. So here we are - 10PM again. We fired up the new grill we got in Vancouver for the first time (took 3 days to put it together!) for an easy dinner of salmon and corn on the cob which was perfect and then we just had to sit still and watch a movie (Silver Lining Playbook) We’ve got all weekend to chill out before the next visitors. It did rain today, breaking the long July draught but oh it felt and smelled so good and was greatly appreciated! The weather will improve tho’ for the long Canadian holiday weekend.
I apologize for not being able for one or another reason (too many distractions, trouble concentrating on one thing at a time, poor internet....) to keep up with looking and commenting. But I miss it and you.. So will try to do better over the weekend. :-)
