Going on a Moose hunt

Another beautiful winters day, but no skiing as we had contractors coming to fix up some previous poor workmanship in the kitchen. So I wanted to be around, not only to let them in of course but to make sure the sink and plumbing were properly installed this time.

This afternoon I went for a hike up in the hills nearby - after yesterday's animal tracks nearby I was half hoping to see moose. I know they have been seen up there. The trail was well trodden so no snow shoes required, yet not icy so no spikes necessary. Just a lovely hike with lots of birdlife, mountain chickadees and the ubiquitous magpies in particular. Lots of what I am sure are moose tracks, but no sightings. I am both pleased and disappointed at the same time - they can be dangerous beasts if you get too close!
