Suburban history
Early this morning I walked to our nearest shops and, on my ramble, took the lower photograph in today’s collage. This was stimulated by a historic photo (top) showing our part of Brisbane in 1946. The red arrow indicates the Tarragindi Bowling Club which is now the site of our retirement village. The Bowling Club still exists and the bowling green has been re-created. The yellow arrows indicate temporary buildings that comprised a US Army hospital in World War II. The buildings have long gone and a small park and the sign remind us of an almost forgotten story.
