Gently down the stream

A small pantomime

..of which this is the finale!

I was tempted to go to the reserve this morning as the sky was slightly lighter than it has been.  My best moments were watching a grey heron and a couple of magpies squaring up on the lookout tree over the river..  To begin with the heron was solo and having a good groom.  Along waltzed a magpie who had the temerity to park on the same tree.  Then came a second one (see collage in extras).  There was a bit of a face-off, before the heron decided he wasn't having any and that's the shot here.  I found it quite amusing ;)

The rest of the day, unfortunately but inevitably, was taken up with cleaning the floors and doing the laundry.  Even my reading time was sliced a bit thin.  Never mind, its done.  At least I won't have to do it tomorrow.

Enjoy yout evening, lovely peeps  xx
