Clear Vision
TUESDAY
A dull, grey and predominantly wet day.
Back in December, on the off chance, I popped into the local independent optician, Richard Saunders of Saunders and Schwatz. He had a free appointment and I was impressed with the thoroughness of the eye test and even more so with the prescription lenses which are far superior to the ones that I have previously bought from Boots and Dolland & Aitchison.
Yesterday I collected my new varifocal photochromic sunglasses and some reglazed reading glasses. So I now have four useable pairs. From front to back:
Reglazed reading glasses – for those times when I need to pretend I’m deep in thought
Lightweight glasses – which won't fly off my face on the Parkrun
My trusty daily varifocals – for when I need to be a functional human being, and
Varifocal photochromic sunglasses – because the summer sun should never stand in the way of seeing my bowls with precision.
I guess it's now time to clear out the man drawer of all the ancient pairs and take them to the charity box for unwanted spectacles so they can be graded for redistribution to eye clinics overseas.
My step count was pathetic again.
