Frozen in time

I didn't sleep well last night, which is unusual of me. It would appear that two episodes of Game of Thrones is not enough to dispel thoughts about the perfect and pluperfect, active and passive forms and complex prepositions from ones mind !

I was tempted to coorie-in this morning but it was such a beautiful day that I forced myself to put on my walking boots and head out, telling myself I could turn back at the end of the woods or at the benches if I wanted to.  However being on the moors was glorious and I kept going until I reached Loch a' Choire. It was pretty windy and obviously had been even winder if these frozen waves/snow drifts were anything to go by.

I was rewarded with beautiful views of the town and the surrounding valley as well as snowcapped peaks to the north.  I think being on the moors ties with swimming in a loch as to where I feel most at peace.  I also enjoyed some wonderful conversations with myself (in Gàidhlig) as I walked - if only I could do the same consistently  when chatting to others!

Tonight sees us heading over to The Grandtully Hotel | Ballintaggart, by minibus for another of our fine dining (and wine-ing) experiences. The menu tonight features crab cake, lobsters and scallops as well as duck and haggis. Yummy.
