Lady Blackbird
Today has mostly been about tomorrow's committee meeting and the paperwork that needs to precede it. It's good to get it off my desk, but the admin does eat up the day. As a result, although the conditions might have been good enough for owling, I have been limited to photography in the garden - hence the resident lady blackbird in today's blip.
Other than that, I popped into Bath to get some more picture mounting tape. The next competition round is the dreaded "panel of 3". As the club runs print and dpi competitions in mono and colour this requires that you produce 12 images. There is therefore a fair amount of work involved in selecting images, creating panels and mounting physical prints, and I was pretty sure that I was about to run out of tape.
While in Bath I also purchased a new fat separating jug. This is an essential bit of kit for making gravy and stock - and our old one got broken a few weeks ago. After spending a good five minutes or more trying to spoon off the fat last weekend I knew that I didn't want to end up doing that again. It's funny, Mum never had one of these back at home when I was growing up and we allways used to do this the hard way. But once you've used one you won't ever want to go back.
