Old Soldier

A gorgeous sunny walk today, heading out to Munslow (again) on a mission to post a letter that was delivered to us in error.

We know the address and family so it was no bother, and it was a really sunny pleasant day

Two miles there and back and I stopped off at St Michael's Church in the village to take a few snaps.

This window is especially poignant as it is in memory of one Francis (Frank) Bury of Millichope Park. He was a Lieutenant in the Shropshire Yeomanry and was killed in action on July 11th 1944 in Normandy.

The inscription reads...

"The stained glass in this window is inserted by his tenants and friends of Millichope Estate and by his father Lindsay and his widow Diana"

He must have been much loved and respected, it is a fine window
