Early-ish start to the day trying to do the Booking and Appointment at the GP thing for youngest. The online appointment system was full to capacity much too quickly so I rang them instead, listened to the message recommending booking an appointment online, pressed 1 for a call back and sat down for a nice cuppa. They returned the call 10 minutes later and all was arranged for the afternoon.

The next challenge was getting youngest up and lively to go (yes you guessed it) to the GP surgery for 9:10 for a health check. We were too late to walk but then we weren't...a hole being dug halfway there meant a long queue and who likes those? We parked up against the curb and walked past them all, arriving just in time, refreshed too in the cold crispy air.

Walking back to the car I peered over a tall bridge wall to see what was going on below. The old dye works site looks to be undergoing decontamination for rebuilding, am guessing for houses but who knows, some employment for people would be nice too. The sun was still low and the ground frosty so it all looks a bit apocalyptic maybe!

Her afternoon appointment went well which am glad about. In between we bought a few bags of groceries and popped to see my parents. Dad had been to his dentist to have his new top teeth finished off. It's his treat after a not very good 2024 and they do look fab...somewhere between Jürgen Klop and an Osmond sibling ;-D
