My Book: 100 Valleys

My latest book, “100 Valleys: Poems of Time and Place in Douglas County, Oregon” is now available online. This is a collection of 100 narrative poems taken from my growing up days. The characters involved are my old classmates, but characters of equal importance are those of place: the North Umpqua River; the Indian Theater; music of the time; junior high dances; the diners we haunted; a grass hill we slid down on cardboard scraps. While much of it is from a specific time and place, I feel like the themes there within will appeal to a broader audience, perhaps one of the same “vintage,” but also one interested the stories of a time.
