Mum's bromeliad

This is under a fairly sparse melaleuca tree and is given some shelter from full sun.  I think it would do a bit better with a little bit more sun.  With those grey leaves they can cope with it.  It's full name is Aechmea Fasciata but it gets called an urn plant in some countries although I refer to it by it's technical name, pink bromeliad.

A fair trip down to Sydney although sometimes I wish those drivers in the outside 'fast' lanes that are doing 5 - 10 kph below the speed limit holding everyone up by not moving over for faster cars would get a huge truck up their jacksie and giving them a big toot.  Rant over.
