Goodbye To “The Beast”

Today is a sad day as we have to say goodbye to our trusty Ford Galaxy, nicknamed “The Beast” by the kids.
It’s done us very well - multiple trips to France, a trip to Italy, many university trips to Birmingham and Nottingham laden with stuff, many, many trips to Enfield…..I could go on.

When the kids were younger it served to transport friends home for tea, being a seven seater. It also took the dog crate in the back for our two Vizslas.

One of my favourite images is of it laden down with five people, two dogs, full of camping stuff (including a fridge!), pulling a trailer, with bikes on the back, a two man kayak on the roof and a roof box! What a legend!

It’s done over 180,000 miles and its MOT runs out today. Quite a lot needs doing and really it’s not worth the money to fix everything, but it still runs very well.

Sad to see it go :(
