Play tent .

I bought this tent many years ago to use as a quiet reading space in my classroom. Our science topic was linked to snow and ice and it was the year that Ben Fogle, James Cracknell and an other raced against 5 teams to reach the South Pole. Ben did a daily blog which we followed and we did experiments to find out how such low temperatures would affect materials , batteries etc . In history we studied Captain Scott and Roald Amundsen and their race . Each area of the curriculum was interconnected around this central theme. Hence this igloo version of a play tent .The last government didn’t approve of having a creative curriculum, it was in fact a very efficient and effective way of working and lent itself to inclusion , they made it increasingly difficult to work in this way and many new teachers don’t have any understanding of the interconnectivity of different subject area . However , fast forward to the present and I can report that Freya had a very happy time in the tent playing with the Frozen characters , eating a snacks and watching a bit of Bluey . Later she turned a cushion into a nest and had several bird friends in there too.
Meanwhile NC was at the dentist having some serious [expensive ) dental work done ! And now it’s the weekend , again .
