A Treat

I needed a treat today. I've had a challenging week. Nothing disastrous, but most days, I've had to deal with something grim.

Yesterday at the charity meeting, I told the Board that both myself and the treasurer were resigning. Their disappointment was obvious. I felt a real shift in their attitude. We want to try to leave the charity in a new and more positive phase, but I wonder.....

Today I had to listen to some simply heartbreaking family situations whilst collecting information to try to help.

I've also, and you may not like this, had to combine the ashes of my parents so that we can scatter them together. I did it in the greenhouse and treated it like a compost mixing job. Sometimes, you just have to find the simplest way through things. We have booked The Ashes tour and will be taking my father to his Highland roots, we will also be visiting key places for them.

And my treat? Two of the most perfect fried eggs on Soda Farls. Delicious.
