Bass Rock Dawn

A cold start to Friday and the air was incredibly clear.  A narrow orange band of sky was visible behind the islands at the mouth of the Forth.

The Bass Rock is 20 miles away from Kirkcaldy but the camera could clearly pick out the lamp-house on the lighthouse.  I could also see, undistorted, the (fibreglass) whale's jawbone on top of North Berwick Law.

There is also a slight mirage undercutting the base of the island beneath the lighthouse.
